Little Packrats announces New Collection, New Material, New Prices

| Ayer, Massachusetts, July 21, 2009… The Little Packrats brand, celebrating over a decade of manufacturing child-friendly packs and totes presents The Jack+ Chloe Collection for the 2009 back-to-school season. Jack the French bulldog and his sidekick Chloe the cat adorn a range of affordable gifts including change purses, pencil cases, backpacks and lunch totes with price points to fit any student budget. Headlining this new product launch is the company’s phthalate-free nylon material option.

The light weight insulated lunch bag is made of 100% Phthalate-Free Nylon outside, with an easy-to-clean FDA-approved insulated lining that keeps food fresh. The convenient top zip closure makes this sturdy, chic bag perfect for picnics, cool for school or simply trekking through another weekday. Jack the Dog and Chloe the Cat make this 13″ x 9″ x 3″ bag a “must-have” for pet-lovers. Soon to follow will be a range of products that will span the Little Packrats and CBHstyle brands with items including baby bibs, toddler and school-sized backpacks and totes and laptop cases for teens and adults.

New Pricing-
Equally important and newsworthy is the announcement of a new lower price point on Little Packrats signature 3-D backpacks. In a dramatic move, Little Packrats is slashing 25% off their popular packs. “Customers love our packs and keep coming back for more,” says company president Cathy Berse-Hurley. “Now they can love the price as well.”
Slashing $10 off the retail price may seem risky for this “Made in the USA” brand, but Berse-Hurley believes it’s a smart move. “Business is tough; when our customers struggle, we struggle. We need them to stay in business for us to succeed. We are confident our lower retails will attract a broader range of savvy customers seeking value as well as American-made style, quality and safety.”

Over 100 new companies – many offering price-sensitive lines and eco-friendly products – will join the New York International Gift Fair’s Personal Accessories featuring Details™ this summer, infusing the show with fresh new resources. Of the division’s total 365 exhibitors, 65 are located within Details, a special showcase of contemporary and specialty boutique-quality personal accessories.
“The great majority – approximately 95% – of the division’s newcomers represent companies making their NYIGF debut. The other five percent of the exhibitors have moved into Personal Accessories featuring Details from other NYIGF divisions, or are returning to market following an absence,” said Dorothy Belshaw, NYIGF director and GLM senior vice president.
A common characteristic among the products offered by the new Personal Accessories exhibitors is an emphasis on affordable yet indulgent products, and functional items with a stylish flair.
The summer edition of NYIGF takes place Saturday, August 15, through Thursday, August 20, at the Javits Center and Passenger Ship Terminal Pier 94 in New York City. The Personal Accessories division featuring Details opens on Sunday, August 16.
